Asian Film Academy 2019
Each year, AFA selects 24 Asian film students or young professionals (AFA calls them fellow) and provide them various programs such as short film productions, masterclasses, and workshops. Also, AFA invites established filmmakers as their directing and cinematography mentor. AFA mentors basically guide fellows through production of a short film (from pre to post) sharing his or her filmmaking experience, passion and wisdom with them during the whole period of AFA.

Asian Film Academy, a Talent Incubator for Young Asian Filmmakers, calls for applications in April every year. Young Asian and Korean filmmakers who are interested in film education and international co-production welcome to apply.

Right after selection announcement, each 24 selected fellow have to write a script for 10-minutes fiction film and submit it by early August. AFA gives fellows Script Regulations and the deadline in mid-July. AFA team and mentors review collected scripts and pick the final two film scripts for making short films during AFA. The two scripts are developed through Online Pre-Production.
One of AFA’s main programs is making short films dividing 24 fellows into two groups. In each group, the fellows will be assigned a role from six majors: 1 producing, 4 directing, 4 cinematography, 1 sound, 1 editing, and 1 production design. The team division is announced with the script result in mid-August.
