My homeland, Mindanao, has had, for the longest time, its bitter share of political unrest. Many compelling stories are untold. As a Filmmaker, I wish to give my share by telling our story. I feel sad and at the same time proud. Sad, because what my people have been through and still going through just to survive. Proud, because amidst the struggles, they do not cease to believe that there is still a way out of their bondage.

Having been immersed with these realties have helped me shaped the kind of film I wish to create - to show the lives of my people in the grassroots level, particularly the marginalized people and different tribes of Mindanao.

I owe my knowledge in filmmaking to the University of the Philippines Film Institute and Mowelfund Film Institute. I have learned to cultivate a sense of sensitivity and discipline to encapsulate my ideas into science. My educational background as a graduate of Philosophy from Ateneo de Zamboanga University allows me to perceive things beyond what is commonly accepted.

My homeland has a lot of stories to tell. Stories that are waiting to be weaved. I just thank God that I get to be the weaver.
