Shin Sonoda is a Japanese film director and screenwriter. He graduated from Rikkyo University, International Law Department of Comparative Law. After making a couple of short films in New York, in 2007, his first feature film Wiz/Out which was written, directed, distributed, and promoted by himself was released at EUROSPACE, became a smash hit. In 2010, his second feature film Nemuriba was released at United Cinema. At the Hakodate Harbor Illumination Film and Scenario Festival, as a scriptwriter, He won the Jury Prize (2009) for the script The Memory Agent, and the Grand Prize (2011) for the script Real Family.
