A filmmaker, Barkat Hossain Polash is a graduate in economics from University of Dhaka, but he did his basic education in photography from Patshala (South Asian Institute of Photography). During his university period, he shot a lot of lower budget independent projects. In 2009, he began his journey to be a cinematographer by assisting prominent Cinematographer of Bangladesh and India and continued till late 2013. He joined Sandbag Ltd in 2011 and worked on almost 150 TV commercials as a camera assistant for two years. His first feature film, Jalal's Story, was selected in the New Currents section of the Busan International Film Festival 2014. He is about to start his 2nd feature film which is in pre-production stage.
