Pithai (Pete) Smithsuth began his cinematography career shooting skateboard videos in Los Angeles, where he went to high school. Filmmaking was always in his blood as his father works as a gaffer for international films that shoot in Thailand. Since Pete′s return to Thailand, he has shot 2 feature films, multiple documentaries, and many TV commercials. Two of his works has been featured as a Vimeo Staff Pick. Pete also has experience as executive producer on local projects including By the Time it Gets Dark by Anocha Suwichakornpong that was shown in the 21st Busan International Film Festival among many festivals. Diamond Island by Davy Chou was premiered in Cannes Critic′s week, as well. Pete has worked with the Thai Short Film Festival to sponsor and help young Thai filmmakers for 4 years.
