Qi Ji was born in Tianjin, China in 1995. He graduated from Beijing Film Academy (BFA), majoring in Film Directing in 2018. Now, he is a MFA student of Beijing Film Academy, majoring in Feature Film Directing. In May 2017, he starred in Uncle Doggie’s Nirvana, the graduating play of directing undergraduate course of BFA. He directed the short film Belief (2016), based on Muslim funerals. Also as the director and screenwriter, he made the short film In the Middle of Blue (2018), and it has been premiered at the Busan International Film Festival 2018, as one of the finalists in the Asia Short Film Competition. In January 2019, he studied at New York Film Academy for half a month. Meanwhile, as a director, he made the short film Weeping Willow (2019) at Universal Studios in Hollywood, and worked with foreign actor and actress.
