Introduction
In 2005 I obtained my first Degree (BA) from the University of Sri Jayawardenepura. Meanwhile Sri Lanka Film Corporation began a Diploma course in filmmaking, which was the first academic experience ever in Sri Lanka related to Cinema. I followed it and emerged batch top. Later, I obtained a scholarship from the Korean government under the Cultural Initiative Programme (CPI) to take part in Asian Young Filmmakers Forum 2007/2008 and also studied Korean language at Chonbuk National University. In 2009 I obtained Master of Arts Degree in Mass Communication from the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka.

I shot my first short film called “Touch” in 2007 which won the Special Jury Price at NWFF in 2008 at Colombo. In 2008 I shot a second short film called “Wings to Fly” which also got official selection NWFF at same year. Now I am working on my first feature film project and hope to shoot it this year.

Currently I am working for the University of Kelaniya and Sri Pali Campus- University of Colombo as a visiting lecturer on to filmmaking and film studies.
