Mohammad Jamil Jalla was born in 1985 in Kabul, Afghanistan. He graduated from university with a degree in fine arts from Kabul University on 2007. Up on his graduation made his first professional short film called The Locked Room, which won an award for the best director at the 4th Kabul International Short Film Festival and also he won an award for the best director of photography for the film, Craps, directed by Saied Sultan Amin at TOLO TV Short Film Festival in Kabul. He is one of the members of Jump-Cut Cinematic Group, with whom they made a series of award winning shorts.
