A graduate in Music Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, CHU Hoi Ying studied Master in Fine Arts -Film & TV Production and digital media- at the Academy of Film at Hong Kong Baptist University with a film production major. Her short documentary Disappearing in Central won the Outstanding Documentary Award at the 11th Global Chinese Universities Student Film and Television Festival in 2014. City Confession, a short film that she wrote and directed, was screened at Moscow VGIK International Film Festival and International Student Film and Video Festival of Beijing Film Academy in 2014. She is currently working as a co-editor for a feature documentary which is funded by Hong Kong Art Development Council.
