This self-taught filmmaker’s journey took a major turn with the feature film The Black Hen (2015), which Shrestha worked on as an editor and assistant director, when it won the Fedeora Best Film Award at Venice Film Festival Critic’s Week. He has since worked as an editor on various short films including Year of the Bird (2016) which screened at BIFF, and A Curious Girl (2018) which won the Special Prize of the Generation Kplus at Berlinale. Shrestha is currently writing the script for his directorial debut, the next step in this filmmaker’s journey.
