Etsen (Yen Ying) Chen graduated from the Filmmaking Department, Taipei National University of Arts with a major in Film Acting and a minor in Film Directing. Etsen’s graduation film The Younger (2015) has been invited to many LGBTQ film festivals in 2015. After that, Etsen had starring roles in a few films such as Bleeding Steel (2018), Wished (2017), Dude’s Manuel (2018), The Story of the Stone (2018), Dental Floss (2019), and Chen Chen (2019). In 2018, Etsen’s first feature film project Tunnel under the Sea joined the Busan AFiS Project Pitching. Because of that, Etsen was invited to the Macedonia Film Festival to do project pitching as an Asian queer film filmmaker and also represented Taiwan for CinemAsia in Netherlands. Nowadays, Etsen works as a director, writer, actor and acting coach in Taiwan, China and Thailand.
