I have a great enthusiasm in films. In Bangladesh, there was no film schools where I could study on films. I watched a lot of films and kept notes on that, read books on film, built a tiny film library and established a film club where I with my friends watched films and discussed on that. In my student life, this was my own way of learning about films. I did not have enough opportunity to work on films in my city and since I had no movie camera to shoot with, eventually I started to write scripts. Since then I have written ten to twelve final feature films scripts. In our society there is a taboo that women are incapable of doing anything outside based works. I have faced a lot of gender-based bias when I expressed my desire to work under a filmmaker, so that in future I could choose my profession as a film director. Eventually, in my country Stamford University, Dhaka campus launched a film course in MA. I have taken an enrollment in this university. In the mean time, besides my study and jobs I have undertaken some courses on film by some organizations both in home & abroad. Talent Campus Delhi, India (2005), Steps Towards Development, Dhaka, Bangladesh (2005), World Literature Center (Film Faculty), Dhaka, Bangladesh (2003), Rainbow Film Society, Dhaka, Bangladesh & Parallel Cine Movement, Khulna, Bangladesh. I have had great opportunity to work with two renowned filmmakers in Bangladesh, are Mr. Tanvir Mokammel (Tree without roots/ Lalon etc.) and Manzare Hasin Murad (Documentary filmmaker).
