I was born and grew up in Kazakhstan. When I was a kid the rock music had the biggest influence on me.
Soon after it I was interested in literature, theatre and films. I have two years experience of working in drama theatre as an actor. Later on I entered Kazakh National Art Academy to study “Film directing”. At the moment I’m on my 4th year of study.
Speaking of world literature I prefer Ph.M.Dostoevskiy. And Martin Scorcese and Emir Kusturica are my favourites in cinematography.
I also think very highly of Bruce Lee personality and his philosophical legacy.
By today I have shot three short films. One of them (“Joyful and resented”) was awarded for best directing at Kazakhstani students’ festival “DIDAR”.
From time to time I challenge myself as an actor. In 2004 I played young commander Tamerlan in the Russian blockbuster movie “Day guard”.
