David Ngui Ing Yant is a graduate with a bachelor degree in Mass Comm, major in Film & Broadcasting and minor in Archaeology.

He returned to his home state Sarawak in 2004 to continue pursuing his passion in filmmaking independently. Besides his main role as a Film Producer and Director, he is also the founder of Sarawak Film Society, the only registered film society in Borneo, aims to promote alternative cinema culture to the local audience in his country.
