Yosuke Kato, a Japanese native, studied at Waseda University, where he received the first degree in literature, started his career as a Production Assistant at Pyramid Film in Tokyo. After working on numerous commercial films and music videos, he moved to the U.S. to refine his artistic craft as a filmmaker. After a brief period, he went on to study at the London Film School in UK, where he shot many short films and received the second degree in filmmaking. He currently stays in London and works on various film projects as an independent cinematographer.
