A graduate in Cinema, he has obtained his postgraduate diploma in Film Editing at Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute of India in Kolkata, India. He has worked as an editor as well as a postproduction supervisor for feature films and short films. In 2011, Gandu, the latest film he co-edited, premiered at the 61st Berlin International Film Festival, London Film Festival, Slamdance Film Festival and 50 other festivals. Manas Mittal edited several films that premiered and won awards at numerous international film festivals, such as TasherDesh, Kajarya, Kusum. He is currently editing a feature film titled Detective Byomkesh Bakshy, directed by Dibakar Banerjee in Mumbai, India.
