A graduate from the University of the Philippines Film Institute, Giancarlo Lauro C. Abrahan V has written screenplays for feature films such as Transit, directed by Hannah Espia and awarded with Best Story at 12th Gawad Tanglaw in 2014, and Islands, directed by Whammy Alcazaren. His short film, May Dinadala, was nominated as Best Short Film at the Gawad Urian Awards in 2014. His first feature film, Dagitab, recently premiered at 10th Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival and won Best Screenplay and Best Director.
