Having graduated from New York University's Tisch School of Arts, Ellery has written and directed several short films, including CRAMMED, JIA FU (FAMILY PORTRAIT) and DANCE OF A MODERN MARRIAGE, which were funded by the Singapore Film Commission. His films have been screened at various international film festivals, and have garnered several accolades.

He is currently developing his debut feature film, FORGOTTEN TEARS, which have already been awarded with screenplay awards including the Best Screenplay at the Asian American International Film Festival 2005 in New York City, and the Gold award in the Feature Film Screenplay category at the National Scriptwriting Competition 2004 in Singapore. This same script was selected to attend the prestigious Produire Au Sud at the Festival of 3 Continents 2005 in Nantes, France.

His versatility and commitment to his director's craft has allowed him to work in numerous interesting and challenging works in the fields of film, television and stage.
