I’m Kaveh Ghahreman. I was born on 22nd of November 1982. I was born in Tehran. I got my diploma in mathematic but love of cinema leads me to study cinema. I got my bachelor degree in cinema directing from Soureh University in Tehran in 2006 and then I continue my studies until I got my master degree in cinema studies from Tehran Art University in 2009. The subject of my thesis for getting the master degree was “Decoupage moderne’ in Cinema” which focuses more on two directors working with this paradigm who were Michelangelo Antonioni and Wong Kar-Wai .(These two are also my favorite directors).
Besides studying cinema, during these years I’ve made about 20 short fictions, experimental and documentary films. I also have worked on several other short films as cinematographer, editor and sound designer and won some prizes in these fields too. Working on these other fields helps me to be a better director and helps me know better about what I intend to do when I’m on the set of my own films.
I also have been working for our national TV (IRIB) since 8 years ago as editor, director and for the first at this year as producer.
At the moment I’m trying hard to make my first feature film but persuading the producers to trust a young director in my country seems almost impossible!
