My first short film Karsel (35mm) received the Kodak Film Award and Best Production Thesis 2003 at the University of the Philippines Film Institute. It’s the first 35mm film thesis of the University since its opening in 1987. My second and third short films Aninag (35mm) and Pera-perahang Lata (HD) were produced through grants from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts. My films competed/exhibited at various film festivals including Louis Vuitton Hawaii International Film Festival, New York International Independent Film and Video Festival, New York Filipino Film Festival, TAU International Student Film Festival, International Women’s Film Festival, among others. Pera-perahang Lata and my fourth short film Technophilia had its Philippine premiere in HD format at Gateway Cineplex 10’s Dolby Super Digital Cinema, one of the top digital cinemas in the Philippines – a record of being the very first live action films by a Filipino filmmaker to be successfully projected digitally in HD. I am also a fellow of the Asian Film Professionals Training Program 2008 in Seoul, Korea.
