Sou Yun Sim was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. At the early age she found interest in drawing and painting, studied Fine Art throughout her teen years and received a BFA in painting from Seoul National University in Korea. During her undergraduate studies, she was intrigued by video art and motion picture as a powerful medium of communication and furthered her education in filmmaking at Florida State University Film School where she received her MFA in 2008. Since graduating, she is residing in Los Angeles, developing her career as a filmmaker and working on her first feature project.
