I think a film should somehow be personal to its creator in any way, that’s why I try to be true on creating films that somehow reflect my Chinese-Filipino culture. Watching a film for me is a kind of “experience” rather than just a form of entertainment. An experience that would provide fruitful realization about reality.
It’s probably too ambitious for me with my dream on becoming one of the best-known filmmakers in the world. Not because of the fame and privilege that I could get, but because of the significance of what I could contribute to the world of cinema. And besides, dreaming is free.
