Takuya Misawa is a student of the Japan Institute of the Moving Image, majoring in film theories. He belonged to production company, WA Entertainment, Inc as an intern for 2 years. He also served as a programmer assistant of the Tokyo International Film Festival 2013. In 2014, he was the assistant director for Taksu and produced short film, A Boy’s Dream. His debut feature, Chigasaki Story, was screened at International Film Festival Rotterdam 2015. The film also won the Best Feature Film Award at the Syros International Film Festival and the Best Screenplay Award at the Beijing International Film Festival.
