Jigme Lhendup began his career as a filmmaker and wrote his first feature length screenplay in 2009. Soon after, he worked in several other projects in all capacities – mostly as a technical staff. In 2011, his continual endeavors were recognized and had him receive a scholarship to pursue a certificate course in filmmaking at International Academy of Film and Television, Cebu, Philippines. After the course, he continued to improve himself by writing and producing short films, documentaries and TV series. In 2013, he wrote and directed an experimental short film Reawakening which won a bronze certificate at the local Film Festival.
