Rahul was born in a town named Bongaigaon in the state of Assam, India in 1991. After graduating with a degree in Electronics and Communication, he studied Film Sound Recording and Sound Designing at Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. Rahul has worked in a few short and feature length films. The short film Jyoti and Joymoti (2017), in which he did the sound design, won the 12th John Abraham National Award for Best Short Feature at SiGNS Film Festival 2018, Kerala, India. This film has also been screened at the Station to Station 2018, Tallinn, Estonia and the Bogotá Short Film Festival BOGOSHORTS 2018, Bogota, Colombia. The feature length films he has been working on include: Tales from My Childhood (2017) as a sound designer, The Apparition (2018) as a field sound recordist and sound designer, and Ravening (2018) as a sound editor.
