Kawakibi Muttaqien, nicknamed Awy, is a lesser known filmmaker who just graduated from college after giving birth to his graduation film, a documentary which took him 5 months to complete. His story often portrays his own experiences mostly through family-related episodes, which can be seen in one of his scripts selected to be produced as part of the FLY Film Lab 2018. Studying at a film college with not so many film references, he created an in-campus film exhibition as a programmer along with some of his fellow students, which successfully featured more than 200 short films across the country to help student getting better access to film references. Currently, he teaches film in high school and works as a film curator for a high school student film festival.
