An Indonesian filmmaker, Mubarak’s work is influenced by his experience growing up in a conservative family. It often portrays the human condition set in a conservative and patriarchal society, as can be seen in his short film The Malediction (2016), which received a Special Mention award at the 2017 Singapore International Film Festival. Mubarak studied film at Korea National University of Arts under the Art Major Asian Scholarship from 2012 to 2014. Based in Jakarta, he is currently working on his first feature film project, Autobiography.
